GutenBlog.net

This post is being created over on GutenBlog and it's being ported to a number of my sites. The app has been created to give you one point of contact for your various online presences - saving time and effort when trying to get multiple postings up.

I'm just evaluating the Alpha right now and can't say it works yet because I'm just typing this in the dashboard and haven't hit send yet. I guess we'll all learn together how well it works in a minute when I publish it.

Shall we try?

PRESSING PUBLISH NOW!!!

*OK, not pressing it yet. Wanted to remind people - just in case this doesn't work - that I'm just a tester at this point and any concerns about Guten Blog should be sent to their staff.

**Also, on a totally separate note, if you're looking for a way to get your link out in the world of new media, Twitter, etc. Gimme a shout. As of November 1, 2009, my photo site - wwjce (what would Jeff Cutler eat?) has been accepting sponsorship. Few of my other sites do so, but wwjce is widely read and has achieved critical acclaim.

Back from NYC

Just got back from the city that never sleeps and spent a little time updating the WithJeff calendar. I'm sure you'll be able to find something to do this week around Boston. And if you've got an event that's not here...gimme a shout and we'll make you a contributor. That's what makes this calendar great - it's crowdsourced and comprehensive.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and take a look at what's happening this week. Hope to see you all at Nogup2 on Wednesday.

Enjoy - and have fun out there!

Boston Latino International Film Festival

Boston's Latino Film Festival is in full swing - showing over 80 movies from the U.S., Spain and Latin America. December 11- 13 will be the last of 3 weekends presenting the latest films produced by Latinos and pertaining to social issues of Latino communities in the US and Latin America.

Friday's line-up starts at 5pm, with "Las Angeles" a narrative feature and humorous film about a Latino family in Los Angeles trying to vitalize its troubled car wash business. At 7pm "Portrait of a Lady" follows the emotional life journey and transformation of a young man in Puerto Rico into a lady of the USA.

Saturday "Paisajes Interiores" tells the story of three generations of miners in the Spanish provence of Leon. At 4:30 pm a selection of 4 U.S. and Latino short films.

Sunday at 5:30pm "Los Dioses Rotos" (Broken Gods) tells the tale of Alberto Yarini, a famous Cuban pimp and political figure at the turn of the 20th century. This film is followed by the festival's closing reception.

Films are in either English or Spanish with English subtitles.

All films this weekend will be screened at Cambridge College, about a 5-10 minute walk from Central Square. Admission is $8, and free for Cambridge College students.

Whirlwind - Holiday - Glance Ahead

With the holidays approaching fast, the time we have (all of us, not just me) to update the site is minimized. So if you've got an event that has to make the cut and be featured here on the calendar or in the blog posts, give us a shout. Or leave a comment here. We'll get back to you or just give you access so you can become a contributor.

What's on tap for this week? YES, I know it's Wednesday night....oops, now it's Thursday morning at 12:08AM.

Thursday....

*Mega Tweetup. It's an event for charity at the Microsoft NERD Center in Cambridge. Big crowd, good cause.

*Pokin' Holes. Also at NERD before the MTU. Cort will be filming on the first floor of the Microsoft Bldg.

*Movember Gala. Takes place at 9PM. Will have to check where. Will add link or just update the calendar with specifics.

*PJA Advertising Marketing Podcast. We go live at 3PM - I'm on the show as is my NomX3 co-host Mike Langford. We're discussing how retailers can leverage Social Media tools during the holidays and all year long.

Friday...

#DrinkUp - A great Sarah Merion event.

#ReMOval - The sponsored shaving of all the Movember MOs.

and more.

Must run because there's more holiday stuff to do. But please contribute your stuff when you can. See you later this month.
